The boat presents in excellent original condition, reflecting the care and attention paid to her, with regular maintenance above and below the waterline. It’s a spacious, large-volume and comfortable boat, it rides well, and is easy to handle. Comfortable and economical cruising speed is 18 – 22 knots at 2000 – 2200 rpm. The large cockpit offers flexible seating and dining arrangements with two table locations. A walk-through transom gives easy access from the boarding platform with fold-away boarding ladder. The cockpit seating covnerts to a single bunk if required. A pair of sunlounger mattresses provide comfort for sunbathing on the foredeck. The main saloon is spacious and comfortable, featuring a 4-seater dinette (which converts to a child’s berth), and a lounge/saloon seating that converts to a double V-berth forward. A privacy screen folds into the bulkhead when not required. Aft of the saloon is a double sleeping cabin with a generous double/queen bed. The galley is mid-ships in the saloon, with a 2-burner stove, microwave, fridge (with internal icebox) and sink. Hot water is provided from an engine heat exchanger. The head includes a manual toilet and hot/cold shower; a second shower (hot/cold water) is located in the cockpit, accessible from the boarding platform to rinse off after a swim. An Aquapro RIB is mounted on dinghy davits on the boarding platform and secured to the utility bar, which also serves as a BBQ platform, fishing rod holder and fish filleting / bait station. The mechanicals of this boat are excellent: low maintenance shaft drives are mated to robust Hurth V-drive gearboxes, and driven by reliable Cummins Diamond series engines, giving a robust and reliable power train. The seawater cooling system has been replaced - with bronze seacocks and new strainers and hoses; and the heat exchangers were acid-washed and pressure-tested as part of the ‘engines-out’ refurbishment in 2017. Injectors were serviced at ~1,400 hours. The boat has been regularly and professionally maintained, and records for all work done in the past 11 years have been kept. She has just had her annual service (fluids, filters, engine anodes, etc. ) and is ready to go for the summer season. Avanti will appeal to Genesis buyers – who will enjoy the additional space and superior trim, without the maintenance issues of stern leg systems.
