Lake Taupo Yacht Club is situated close to the Taupo town centre on Ferry Road. We are a family-friendly yacht club with an active racing and cruising programme for adults. We enjoy introducing young people to sailing, and teaching them all they need to know to excel at the sport and love every moment of it.

Our clubhouse has expansive views of Lake Taupo over to Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe.
Our boat shed is very close by and holds our fleet of centreboard boats owned by our members. We also have our start boats P2 and P6 moored in the lake near the clubhouse. Trailer sailors are able to access our secure pens in the bay and members also have permanent moorings in the lake.
Lake Taupo Yacht Club currently has around 40 family members with 25 dinghies and 25 trailer sailers sailing on the lake on a busy club day. LTYC has hosted sailing regattas with over 150 boats in the past!
Lake Taupo Yacht Club is a voluntary organisation run our members who generously donate their time and energy.
